Société Nautique de Genève
The Société Nautique de Genève is a yacht club based in Geneva. It was founded in 1872 with the goal of developing nautical sports and high level sailors. Currently the club has about 3000 members. The club held the America’s Cup from 2003 until 2010, staging one successful defense in 2007 with its Alinghi syndicate.
in 2022 the club will celebrate their 150 years of existence. this will be done with numerous festivities, one of witch will be the 8 metre class 2022 World Cup regatta that will be held at the end of July (25th till 31st). As of April 12th 2022 there are 25 eight metre yachts already registered to participate in the 8mR World Championship. the biggest devision looks like to be the yacht eligible for the Neptune Trophy.
