Hispania IV

Hispania IV, International 8 metre class yacht, was built in 1927 for His Majesty Alfonso XIII, King of Spain. Tanneguy Raffray, its current owner since 1978, undertook a complete restoration of the Yacht in 1987/1989 at the Chantier du Guip and brought it back into conformity with the International Metre rule. One of the most successful 8mR’s in France, Hispania IV participates in a large number of regattas, European Cups and World Cups across Europe. (Cannes, Cowes, Heslinki, Argentario, Flensbourg, La trinité sur mer, etc.) Hispania IV also races along the Atlantic coast every year during the  “Challenge Métrique” a Metre Class Challenge series of 3 events taking place in Bénodet, La Trinité sur mer and Noirmoutier, and actively participates in the renewal of International Metre Class yachts in the Atlantic.
